Professional background
Dr Hadinata is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine. He previously worked as a GP in Geelong before completing Advanced Training in Addiction Medicine at Western Health.
He works as an Addiction Medicine Specialist and Specialist General Practitioner at The Victoria Clinic and conducts regional outreach through the Opioid Management Clinic at Ballarat Community Health. His experience spans inpatient, outpatient and community care, including consultation-liaison work, dual-diagnosis rehabilitation and residential withdrawal.
Dr Hadinata is an accredited clinical supervisor with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and an accredited Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence (MATOD) trainer with the RACGP. His professional work also includes research, medical education and independent medicolegal opinion.
Professional leadership
Dr Hadinata is the Immediate Past Chair of the RACGP Victoria Alcohol and Other Drugs Committee and a member of the RACGP Victoria Faculty Council. He has represented Addiction Medicine on The Victoria Clinic Medical Advisory Committee since February 2026.

2025 AChAM Nghi Phung Research Project Prize
The Royal Australasian College of Physicians named Dr Hadinata the 2025 recipient of the AChAM Nghi Phung Research Project Prize for research on the impact of telehealth modalities on attendance rates in addiction clinics. He completed Advanced Training in Addiction Medicine in 2025.

Dr Hadinata is an acknowledged contributor to the Victorian Department of Health's Sublocade® discontinuation guidance (2026), which supports transition planning and continuity of care.
Dr Hadinata participated in the prescription opioids and opioid use disorder panel at the RACGP GPADD Conference on 29/08/2026. He also contributed specialist commentary to ABC 7.30's report on contaminated illicit alcohol on 20/07/2026.
He contributes to peer review for Advances in Dual Diagnosis.
