Purpose and approach

Choose the work that fits the person

This library is for people taking part in clinician-guided psychotherapy and for the clinicians supporting that work. You and your clinician select relevant material, review how it fits and adjust the amount of work as needed.

A practical core

Orientation and 15 core sessions introduce values, attention, emotions, difficult moments, thoughts, relationships and patterns of behaviour. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) provides the organising framework, with supporting Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills.

Material for a current purpose

Selected pathways and shared modules address areas such as substance use and recovery, trauma, mood, grief, shame, relationships, sleep and chronic pain. Selection follows the person's current needs and agreed care plan.

Ways to make participation workable

Access material considers attention, memory, sensory needs, communication, culture, disability and telehealth. Participant pages offer choices about writing, talking, privacy, pausing and what to share.

The full library is a resource for selection. It is not a list of work to complete from beginning to end, a standalone self-treatment course or a complete therapy programme. Assessment, treatment decisions and urgent care remain with the responsible clinical team.
